NCCU STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE MONTH: RENEE NATSON

Cheerleader Graduated in May with 3.415 GPA; Planning to Attend Graduate School at UNC-Chapel Hill

DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University cheerleader Renee Natson has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for July 2014 in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments on the sideline and in the classroom.
 
A native of Atlanta, Ga., Natson wrapped up her NCCU cheerleading career as the Varsity Captain during the 2013-14 season. She also served as Miss Senior and Miss NCCU in her final college year.
 
Natson has interned with the Division of Student Affairs and the Department of Athletics, and has worked as a staff reporter with the Campus Echo newspaper.
 
She is a member of the Alpha Chi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the National Communications Honor Society, the National English Honor Society and the National Honor Society.
 
Natson graduated with honors in May with a degree in mass communication. She posted a grade point average of 3.538 in the spring semester to lift her final GPA to a 3.415.
 
She is planning to attend graduate school at UNC-Chapel Hill for speech language pathology.
