NCCU STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE MONTH: CARTER WILLIAMSON

May Graduate Bats .466 during Month of April

DURHAM, N.C. (NCCUEaglePride.com) – North Carolina Central University baseball senior Carter Williamson has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for April 2014 in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments on the diamond and in the classroom.
 
A native of Roanoke, Va., Williamson batted .466 during the month of April with 27 hits in 58 plate appearances. In that time, the catcher and designated hitter also recorded 13 runs batted in, 12 runs scored, three doubles, a home run and a slugging percentage of .569.
 
During the 2014 season, Williamson topped the Eagles with a .344 batting average, 63 hits, 12 doubles, 42 RBI and 29 walks. He was voted to the All-MEAC Second Team as a designated hitter.
 
In his four seasons, Williamson has established himself as one of the top Eagles in the modern era of NCCU baseball. He is the modern day NCCU career leader in hits (192), doubles (36), runs batted in (135), total bases (245) and walks (87).
 
Williamson graduated with honors (cum laude) from NCCU on May 10, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in management. He is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and was active in the Entrepreneurship Club at NCCU.
