Women’s Bowling Senior Graduates with 3.516 GPA as Family and Consumer Sciences Major

DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University women's bowling senior Khrystal Richardson has been named the Nationwide Insurance NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for June 2013 in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments on the lanes and in the classroom.

A native of Matteson, Ill., Richardson capped her NCCU bowling career by averaging 166.9 pins per game with a high game of 209 during the 2012-13 season.

Richardson graduated from NCCU in May with a degree in family and consumer sciences, a concentration in child development and a minor in Spanish. She posted an overall grade point average of 3.516.

During her final semester at NCCU, Richardson served as a second grade teacher's assistant at Fayetteville Street Elementary School, and volunteered with an NCCU blood drive and Habitat for Humanity.

She is planning to attend graduate school in her home state of Illinois to obtain a master's degree in special education.
